Torres, Eladio
Eladio Torres was born on 25 July, 1950 in Bayamón, Puerto Rico. Although he showed an early interest in music, Torres did not pursue a formal education in music. He learned the guitar with which he composed and performed his own compositions by the age of 17.
In the 1970’s, Torres joined a music group called Alborada and recorded along with Danny Rivera, what was to become one of the most popular danzas in the genre’s re-emergence at that time: “Tu vives en mi pensamiento”. The composition was the second of a trilogy with the first being “Alma gemela” and the last, “Dama de mi claridad”.
